How to add a favicon to your Showit site
Quick answer
In Showit, open Site Settings, find the Favicon section, upload a square image (ideally 512x512px PNG), and publish your changes.
How to fix it in Showit
1. Prepare a square image to use as your favicon — your logo mark or brand icon works well. Recommended size: 512x512px, PNG format with a transparent background
2. In the Showit Design App, go to the left side Site Panel and open the Site tab
3. Open your Site Settings
4. Find the Favicon setting and click Choose Image
5. Upload your favicon file using the upload button in the bottom left, then select it
6. You'll see a preview of how your favicon will appear in the browser tab
7. Click Publish to make your favicon live on your site
8. Run a fresh scan in FastaSEO to confirm the favicon is now detected
What's the issue
FastaSEO couldn't detect a favicon on your site. Without one, your site shows a generic blank icon in browser tabs. It's one of the easiest fixes on this list and takes under five minutes.
Why it matters
- A favicon appears in browser tabs, bookmarks, browser history, and on mobile home screens when someone saves your site. Without one, your tab shows a generic icon that makes your site look unfinished. It's a small detail that visitors notice — especially clients who have multiple tabs open and are trying to find your site again. It also contributes to a complete, professional site that Google views favourably.
What good looks like
A clear, recognisable favicon visible in the browser tab. Usually a simplified version of your logo or brand mark. Square, 512x512px, PNG with transparent background.
How long this takes
Adding a favicon in Showit takes under five minutes once you have your image ready.
