What do the different categories mean?
When you optimize a page, you'll see these categories. Here's what each one means:
## Images
Alt text and file names for your photos. Google can't "see" images—it reads the text you provide. Good alt text helps you show up in Google Image search and makes your site accessible to screen readers.
## Heading Structure
The H1, H2, H3 hierarchy on your page. Headings tell Google what your page is about and how it's organized—like a table of contents. Showit often scrambles this order in the code, even when it looks fine visually.
## Meta Tags
Your page title and description that appear in Google search results. This is often the first thing potential clients see, so it needs to be compelling and include your keywords.
## Links
Internal links (connecting your own pages) and external links. Internal linking helps Google discover all your pages and understand which ones are most important.
## Content Enhancements
Schema markup and structured data—code that tells Google exactly who you are, what you do, and where you're located. This can unlock rich results like star ratings, business hours, and service areas in search.
## URL Structure
Clean, readable URLs. yoursite.com/wedding-photography is better than yoursite.com/page-1-copy-final. Good URLs help both Google and humans understand what a page is about.
## Technical
Behind-the-scenes factors like page speed, mobile responsiveness, indexing settings, and sitemap configuration. These affect whether Google can find and crawl your site efficiently.
## Accessibility
Making your site usable for everyone, including people using screen readers. Google rewards accessible sites, and it's the right thing to do. This includes image alt text, color contrast, and proper labeling.
