How to add a target keyword to a page in FastaSEO
Quick answer
Click on any page in FastaSEO to open it. At the top of the page you'll see a Set Target Keywords section. Enter your primary keyword, add any secondary keywords, and click Save Keywords.
How to fix it in Showit
1. Open your site in FastaSEO and go to the dashboard
2. Click on the page you want to set a keyword for
3. At the top of the page, find the Set Target Keywords section
4. Enter your primary keyword in the Primary Keyword field — this is the main phrase you want the page to rank for
5. Optionally, add secondary keywords in the Secondary Keywords field — these are related phrases you'd also like the page to appear for. Click Add after each one
6. Click Save Keywords when you're done
7. FastaSEO will now check whether your primary keyword is appearing in all the right places on the page and flag any gaps
What's the issue
FastaSEO checks your pages against your target keyword to make sure it's appearing in your URL, H1 heading, meta title, meta description, and other key spots. Without a keyword set, FastaSEO can't run these checks. Adding your keywords takes under a minute per page.
Why it matters
- Once your keyword is saved, FastaSEO uses it to evaluate your page across multiple checks — your URL, H1 heading, meta title, meta description, footer, and body copy. Each of these is a place where your keyword should appear naturally. FastaSEO flags the ones that are missing so you know exactly what to fix. Without a keyword set, these checks can't run and you'll miss important optimisation opportunities.
What good looks like
Every page in FastaSEO has a primary keyword saved. Pages that target related phrases also have secondary keywords added. FastaSEO confirms the keyword is detected in all the key locations on the page.
How long this takes
Adding a target keyword to a page in FastaSEO takes under two minutes.
