How to fix images that may look blurry in Showit
Quick answer
FastaSEO has identified images that are smaller than they need to be for how they are displayed. Find a higher resolution version of the image, then re-upload it into Showit to replace the original.
How to fix it in Showit
1. FastaSEO will identify which images are undersized for their display size
2. Find a higher resolution version of the image — from the original photographer, your camera roll, or a design file
3. If a higher resolution version is not available, consider replacing the image with a different one that is large enough
4. In Showit, click on the image
5. Open the right-hand sidebar and click Image
6. Select Replace Image and upload the higher resolution version
7. Save and publish your changes
What's the issue
FastaSEO found images where the natural image size is smaller than the size it is displayed on the page. When an image is stretched beyond its natural resolution it can become soft or pixelated. This is especially noticeable on retina displays, which require images to be at least twice the display size to look sharp.
Why it matters
- Blurry or pixelated images make your site look unpolished and unprofessional — which affects how visitors perceive your brand. On retina screens, which are now standard on most modern phones and laptops, an undersized image will look noticeably soft. Replacing it with a correctly sized version is a quick way to improve the quality of your site's presentation.
What good looks like
Images that are at least as large as the space they fill on the page — ideally twice the display size to look sharp on retina screens. For an image displayed at 600px wide, the file should be at least 1200px wide.
How long this takes
Each image takes a few minutes to source and re-upload.
