How to set up a coming soon page in Showit

Getting StartedUpdated 153 days ago

Quick answer

In Showit, create a new blank page, name it Coming Soon, add your logo and basic details, set it as your homepage using the three-dot menu, and publish. On launch day, set your main page as the homepage and hide the coming soon page.

How to fix it in Showit

1. Step 1 — Create a new page. In the Site tab in Showit, click the + sign next to Pages and select Add Blank Page.

2. Step 2 — Name the page. Double-click the new page in the left panel and rename it Coming Soon.

3. Step 3 — Design the page. Add your logo, a short message letting visitors know your site is coming, and your social media links. Set the canvas to Window Height so it covers the full screen. Keep it simple — a logo, one line of text, and your social icons is all you need.

4. Step 4 — Set it as your homepage. Click the three dots (...) next to the Coming Soon page name in the left panel and select Set as Homepage. You'll know it's set correctly when a small house icon appears next to the page name in the panel.

5. Step 5 — Publish. Click Publish in Showit to make the coming soon page live.

6. Step 6 — Add your site to FastaSEO. Once your domain is live with the coming soon page published, add your site to FastaSEO and run your first scan.

7. Step 7 — Launch day. When your full site is ready, click the three dots (...) next to your main homepage and select Set as Homepage. The house icon will move to your main homepage page name. Then hide the Coming Soon page by clicking the three dots (...) next to it and selecting Hide Page — this removes it from your live site without deleting it. Publish your full site and run a fresh scan in FastaSEO.

What's the issue

A coming soon page is a temporary homepage that lets visitors know your site is on the way. It's a simple page with your logo, a short message, and your social links. In Showit you can set any page as your homepage — so you can use a coming soon page while you finish building your full site. On launch day you set your main page as the homepage and hide the coming soon page so it's no longer visible to visitors.

Why it matters

  • Getting your domain live early has real SEO benefits. Google starts indexing your domain as soon as it's live — and a domain with some history carries more trust than a brand new one. Publishing a coming soon page also means you can add your site to FastaSEO straight away and start preparing your SEO before your full launch. By the time your full site goes live, your domain is already known to Google and your SEO foundation is in place.

What good looks like

A clean coming soon page with your logo, a short message, and social links. Set as your homepage in Showit and published. Domain is live and your site has been added to FastaSEO.

How long this takes

Creating and publishing a coming soon page in Showit takes around 15 minutes.
