Quick answer

FastaSEO has identified images that are in a non-optimal format. Download the optimised version FastaSEO prepared, then re-upload it into Showit to replace the original.

How to fix it in Showit

1. FastaSEO will identify which images are in a non-optimal format and prepare optimised versions

2. Download the optimised version from FastaSEO

3. In Showit, click on the image

4. Open the right-hand sidebar and click Image

5. Select Replace Image and upload the optimised version

6. Save and publish your changes

What's the issue

FastaSEO found images that are not in the most efficient format for their content. Showit compresses JPEG images automatically but does not properly compress PNG files — so PNGs can end up much larger than they need to be. FastaSEO automatically detects whether an image can safely be converted to JPEG.

Why it matters

  • Showit automatically compresses JPEG images on upload — but it does not properly compress PNG files. This means a PNG photo can end up being several times larger than the same image saved as a JPEG. Large image files slow down your page load time, which affects both visitor experience and SEO performance. Using the right format for each image is one of the easiest ways to keep your Showit site fast.

What good looks like

Photos and background images saved as JPEG. Only images that genuinely need transparency saved as PNG. No PNG files used where a JPEG would work just as well.

How long this takes

Each image takes a few minutes to convert and re-upload.
