Quick answer

FastaSEO has identified images that are significantly larger than they need to be for how they are displayed. Download the optimised version FastaSEO prepared, then re-upload it into Showit to replace the original.

How to fix it in Showit

1. FastaSEO will identify which images are oversized for their display size and prepare correctly sized versions

2. Download the optimised version from FastaSEO

3. In Showit, click on the image

4. Open the right-hand sidebar and click Image

5. Select Replace Image and upload the optimised version

6. Save and publish your changes

What's the issue

FastaSEO found images that are significantly oversized compared to how they are displayed on screen. For example, an image displayed at 400px wide but uploaded at 2000px wide is carrying far more data than the page needs. This slows down load time for every visitor.

Why it matters

  • When an image is displayed at a small size on the page but the file itself is very large, the browser still has to download the full file before showing it. This wastes bandwidth and slows the page down — especially on mobile connections. Sizing images closer to their actual display size is one of the most effective ways to improve page speed.

What good looks like

Images sized appropriately for how they are displayed on the page. For a retina screen, aim for roughly twice the display size — so an image displayed at 400px wide should be around 800px wide.

How long this takes

Each image takes a few minutes to resize and re-upload.
